    262 block

I have a 1975 262 sb engine out of a nova with the engine code 355909. Can I build this block into a 383 stroker motor. If so what will need to be done.

    Thank You
    Corbitt

Nope. The bore is too small on that engine.

You could get the crank to fit in the block o.k., but there are no off-the-shelf pistons to use with it, so pistons would have to be custom made and would be prohibitively expensive. If you want a 383, you should be able to locate a good 350 block in your area and then purchase a stroker kit to bolt in....such as this budget kit.....

not only will u not get a 383, the heads they come with are designed around the small bore's and are worse than 305 heads
