    They seem to be the right heat range, as i get no detonation, and when I changed them (for the hell of it) they were a nice light brown. The plug wires are brand new. The car runs fine under normal conditions, but when I get on it is when the problems show up.

    The plugs were gapped .035 i think, and they were not damaged at all. I changed them about 1500 miles ago. With no performance difference.
