Not everyone has that sitting in they're shed. When you say build an engine, it should mean from scratch. Besides, why waste my money when I have a 350 sitting right beside it that will make more HP with the same parts?? See My Point??Originally posted by gassersrule_196

and yeah around here you can usually get 283's for free because no one wants them there loss. and not all the time. ive seen people dump lot of money into a 350 but they built it "the wrong way" and it ended up costing more then my motor and they only came out with like 385 horse
but what do i know im only 19 and have built alot! of hi po 302's and lots econo 283's so just dont pay attention to me you wont a learn a fu&*ing thing

yeah thanks, my mom died december 22nd. this is b/s i know my motors and i can row through the gears and build some nice motors and know alot about cars and drag racing ESP 60's drag racing <dave knows what imt alking about> but because im 19 i am automatically qualified for the "hes a kid dont pay attention to his dumb a**" type attitude thanks i like it alot

The kid part comes in when you build a 385hp 350 that is junk because it was built the wrong way. We are obviously not on the same page. A 385hp pump gas naturally aspirated 350 is better than most can do.RAY

see i have 12:5-1 comp. doesnt bother me to run trick its worth the price for the ride
i can actually get away with pump gas and a bottle of booster. doesnt run great but works for street use. trick is better for it. dont need the lead part just the octance got hardened valve seats. NOW can we quit fighting

The whole point in writing this post was to show how cubic inches would be better than High Compression and High RPMs on the street. Do you have any idea how much HP my 10.2:1 383 would make if I changed to 12.5:1 compression? I'm at 496 now with a Victor Jr., Comp Cams 288/296 adv., 252/258@.050 .630/.630 on a 106 LSA and 1.6in/1.5ex. rockers (BTW Solid Roller) and 215cc Dart heads.Originally posted by gassersrule_196

i do what i do with gm block and heads, yes 194 1.6 GOD FORBID a child made horsepower with gm heads
and yes ill say this i was reading a hot rod a while back and they pointed out that short stroke bigger bore motors are the rage in hardcore dragr acing. some guys are turning cranks down to honda size journals and are using shorter strokes and bigger bores

Baby motors need baby heads. Build one with vortecs and it'll really scream. If you ever go stroker, you'll try hard to remember what you liked about those baby motors. My 420sbc sets your eyeballs on the back of your scull.Originally posted by gassersrule_196
