Ok guys here is one for you. I set the timing marks on a SBC 350 and put the motor together. The motor will start but kicks back really hard. It will start if you set the timing back and then turn it back up when it starts. Did I put the timing marks on top on both gears. Will a motor run like that?

You need to set your (total timing).Try 34 as a starting point.
