If you are asking how to get the broken off piece out, there are several ways I know of. You can use an easy out, where you drill a hole into the dead center of the stud , insert the easy out, and turn counter clockwise until the broken off piece starts turning out.
Second way is a left handed drill bit. You need a reversible drill, and it is just like drilling the hole mentioned in the paragraph above, except you spin the drill backwards of the normal drilling rotation. The idea is, the drill bit grabs the piece, and bites in, turning the piece free as you are drilling.
I haven't had 100% luck with easy outs. sometimes the wedge shape of it expands the stud, and tightens it more in the hole. Other times it works.
If there is a portion of the stud sticking out, like maybe 1/4 inch, I have sometimes slipped a slightly bigger nut over the stub, hit the crater in the center with a welder momentarily, and then used the nut just like a conventional bolt, to turn the stud out. I think the heat from the arc welder helps free it up too.
You may luck out and it will be easy, or you may learn a few new words.
haha trust me ive made up more than a few new words lol.
thanks guys for your advice i appreciate it
I've found five-letter words are far superior to four-letter words in these situations.
EZ-Out? Torch? Plier? Drill? Electrical Discharge Machining? Well, that last one isn't a 5 litter word but it works quite well.
