Motor set up
I am pretty new at this and I was wondering if anyone had a good set up for my car. I will have a 355 or 327. I have to have hydralic lifters. Lifter can't exceed 480 intake or 480 exhaust. All parts must be OEM. I have a marine intake also. I want power without buying vortec heads. Camelback heads, 305 heads on 355. Probably going to put this in my street stock race car. 3/8 mile dirt track. Please any help is appreciated.

How much compression can you run?

we have to use pump gas. I think we can go up 93 or more. I know we can use racing fuel because they check it all the time.

I would build the largest cubic inch engine you can.Look for camshafts that are ground on 106 lobe seperation.Stock pistons won't hold up for very long.I would look into a Hypereutectic pistons.Because of your compession rule I would look at heads that have a 76cc combustion chamber. The 305 heads have a very small combustion chamber that would give you to much compression.Being new to the sport take a look at Circle Track magazine. This magazine will give you some ideas.

If you can find a set of 441's at the junkyard they can be ported out to flow real well also....
