Power in a small block Chevy is in the heads, if I wanted to put a 4-barrel intake & larger carb. on I would find a good set of heads in my price range.
I use this formula for starting carb size : cubic inch of the engine times the max rpm I intend to turn the engine, divided by 3456, and that gives me cfm's of the carb.
