Help with cam for 434 or 409 SBC
I am in the process of building a motor. I have 2 options I am considering, but need help with the cam. It seems everyone has a different idea when it comes to this. Need to decide soon, just a side note, I had to go to .040 over because the block was a sloppy 406 when I got it. Good block though, just a sloppy bore.
Here is my setup:
Option#1
400sbc +.040 over + 3.75 stroke (stock)= 409 cu.in.
World Sportsman II 72cc, 2.02 int. 1.60 exh.
Roller rockers
.059 headgasket
Scat forged rotating addembly
Forged pistons flat
RPM Air gap intake (dual)
770 Holley truck avenger
MSD ignition/dist
2800 stall
Option#2
Same as above, except stroked.
400sbc + .040 over + 4" stroke= 436 cu.in.
This is going in a 4x4, which is used for mud. A little
trail riding, usually just on the way to the mud.
Just started to understand motors, so still very new
at it. So if something sounds out of place, please tell me.
Thanks alot,

I always say, lets race. Half on the road and half off.....you decide where to start!!!
My ex-wife just told me that she wants us to get back together again. Man, I sure am lucky! I mean, first I won the Lottery, and now this!
