It's pretty much stock.
It's basically like the guy above said, stock compression and low. Good if you want to put a blower on it though and that will be ok.... If you don't plan to have a stricly race car then no point in getting high compression...
You can race any motor in any car. It's called bracket racing. You establish a dial-in that you will not run under. Your opponent does the same thing. That way, any car, whether it runs fast or slow has an equal opportunity to win. Only the pro's run heads-up against each other.
That's a very low compression ratio but it will be OK if your a beginner because it will give you experience with the light and should be very consistent in bracket racing which is the ticket. Speed means nothing as long as its consistent in bracket racing. I do think you will get bored rather quick though with the performance of such a low compression engine. I was taught that if you put a decimal in the octane number you could be pretty safe with that CR. Ex.-- 87 octane=8.7 CR, 93 octane=9.3
CR. That's conservative numbers but safe. Make sure you use a short duration cam like stock w/ a little more lift or you will really be dissappointed with the performace output.
i see. i know all about bracket racing friends have a 8 second trans am they bracket race. i want to buy dome pistons for it but right now im broke lol
