First and fore most I am NOT crazy for keeping a 305 in my truck( just wanted to get that out of the way first ) now I need some help on figuring out what size it now turns out to be after the bore job (.060 ) and if I can use roller lifters on it. I have a vortec v-6 that has the rollers and a keeper that I can't remember if the 305 is set up to use. I will be using a torque cam because of pulling a 24' pontoon boat. Any ideas as to the c.i. now ? BTW it's in a 88 K-1500. :confused::whacked:

Some of the later 305s were set up for roller lifters. If your block has the treaded bosses in the lifter valley for the "spider" type retainer you can use the lifters and push rods from your V6. But you will be short four of them (four lifters and four push rods) and you will also need a V8 spider, a V8 roller lifter cam, and a special gear for your distributor.
For a daily driver truck that sees some towing I'd recommend an Edelbrock Performer cam kit. Good torque and good mileage. And not very expensive. Roller cam shafts and lifters are better than the flat tappet versions because they reduce friction and facilitate more aggressive cam grinds.
