CSB Race Heads

Hello All

I would like to have some help in a decission on what type of heads and camshaft combo that will work.

383 cuin

Enigine 350 2 bolt block -74 030 bore

4bolt splayed caps.

Crankshaft 3.75 stroke and 5.7 Hbeam rods.

SRP dome pistons ( 12.9:1 with 64cc heads )

My goal is 650 HP below 7500rpm

If it will work with 23degree heads i would be glad ( beacause its cheper)

And to the MekRollCam it should have a lobe spearation of 110 or greater because i would want to spray i with a small amount of N2O

will this work... Canfield 220cc heads with 65cc CNC chamber and a Compcams 12-817-9 camshaft ( lift in .739 ex .693 dur in 274 ex 282 lobe sep 112 deg )

It will work.150 shot of N20 will give you your 650 h.p.Is this a pro street car or strip car?The reason I ask is the lift on your cam is a lot.If it is a Pro street car cut the lift back a little your valve train will thank you for this.Try to stay around .625 lift.It will be much cheaper for you in the long run as far as valve springs and valve seats.

I sould be 650hp N/A

Strip only

For what i know .625 in lift wont make 650 N/A HP

It will with a 150 shot of N2o.

But goal is 650 N/A HP
and with N20 say 750-800hp

Please come up with some examples or ideas

Anything h.p.much above the 625 mark you would need an aftermarket block.

How much punish will the stock block hold on to ?

i have heard 800 with splayed caps....

800 No Way!!625 if prepped,sonic tested etc.

fill it with block rock and it will take it use multi -layer steel head gaskets on the cam run the 4-7 swap you will need some head work and some killer parts. valve springs i would use isky tool room springs. titanium intakes valves. titanium retainers. miller or t@D jesel rocker arm and. a dry belt for timing jesel or comp belt and bore the cam out for roller bearing or go big block on the cam bore .and i think you will need at 13to1 and a better block would be nice. i think you need more intake cc than220

I agree with all of this except for the idea of roller bearing or bbc cam bearing size.In our 412 that turns lap after lap at 7,800 on a 1/2 mile track we have never done this or thought it necssary.The after market blocks such as the Dart block have extra oil going to the cam bearings.

700 lift will take 240 psi at the seat and the cam bearing will get hammed out why take the chance??

I was refering to the .625 that I suggested in a previous post.
