The stock ones are all billet or cast alum.
i am looking for the steel look
the stock ones are die cast
the vortec head bolt pattern is somewhat different than non-vortec heads so other brackets dont exactly work.
For one motor, we made an adapter plate that bolted to the head. Then, we transferred the bracket pattern to the adapter. This pushed the belt pulley out so we had to make an equal spacer for that.
On another, we cut the die cast vortec mounts so that we only used the a/c compressor half.....not the p/s lower half. Then, we powder coated the bracket in black wrinkle....it kinda disappears but it is still big.

Call Bill's Hot Rods in Covina, CA at (818) 332-1915. His brackets are works of art, and you can get them in either raw steel or chrome. Nice guy to deal with, too. I have his alternator and A/C brackets on my street rod, and I have seen none nicer.
I just called Bills the new # is 626 332-1915
thanks for the leed 626 332-1815
The accessory bolt holes on the Vortec heads are almost identical to the old generation heads. Almost any accessory bracket from any model should bolt up so don't limit your search to vehicles that came with Vortec engines. I just put Vortec heads in my 76 truck and everything bolted up.
