That's a strange id. Here's all of the "known" chevy id's in the 140 series. If it's a four bolt main, my guess is that the id is 1401209 and the stamping is a bit off. Hope it helps. Good luck!

try giviing us thee code off the front of the block passenger sside jusst below the head at front of engine. this should help i will look it up 2morrow
It might help to tell if it is a casting number (which it sounds like)or a stamped number, if it's a 6 or V-8, and if an 8, is it a big block, or small block.
My experience is that you'll need the stamped number, and especially any letters, like "Philthy" describes.
thanks guys i really appreciate your responce .as it turns out i copyed the no.wrong. it was 203 .guess its one for the junkpile its a 305 not what i wanted thanks again. dave
That's a bummer. But I wouldn't throw it out. If you've got the room, keep it in the corner of your shop. The 305 is not a bad motor, especially if someone is looking for a real basic engine for a daily driver. With a few nice aftermarket accessories and a bit of work, they're a great motor for a 17 year old guy (or gal) just getting started. Regards..
