im tellen ya theres nothing wrong with this motor its like lt1s10 says either the cams to big or theres a vacuum leak . tomarrow i put on new intake gaskets mr gasket the thick ones
Pay very close attention to the gaskets and inspect them where they were crushed to make certain you're getting a full pinch all the way around all of the ports.
the comp is good. now we have to dicide if you have a vac. leak or not. set the timing like you did yesterday, adj the idle to around 900 rpm's, screw the carb. air screws in all the way and back them out 2 1/2 turns. with the motor running, choke the carb. with the choke betterfly or with putting your hand over the top just a little and see if the motor ildes up or idle down. dont have to choke it but a little. or spray a mist of carb. cleaner into the top of the carb. and the rpm'm should pick up if you have a leak. if you spray the cleaner into the carb. and it dont make no dif. or it chokes the motor out, then there is no leak. that would probably mean the cam is to big. i cant stress enough that it only will take a little mist of carb. cleaner sprayed into the carb. to make a dif. let me know.
whats better choking the motor or carb cleaner cause i can go do that right know
spray a mist of carb. cleaner into the carb. i guess you know some carb. cleaner want burn. if you are using the no burn then it will fool you. spray a little cleaner on the floor and see if it will burn.
