I am looking to match some parts to what I already have on hand and make some good usable power. I have a Chevy 327, weiand stealth dual plane manifold, edelbrock performer 650 carb. What would a good set of heads and choice of cam be to make a nasty little thumper of a 327? Any help appreciated.

If you've got money to burn, AFR heads with small runners of 170-180 cc's would probably be best for your engine.
i used vortec heads. yes if you wanted to dump the extra money and go with some nice aftermarkets, do that, but i have been running my vortecs for about 4 years now and couldn't be happier!! all i can say is do your homework. happy hunting!!!!
Thanks for the help. Are you running a standard manifold with the vortech heads or a vortech compatible manifold? How do I know if I have a big enough carb for these heads. As you can see I am enthusiastic about the project but am an amateur and willing to learn. Do you know where I can figure out what cam/rollers/piston combo will also work out well for what I'm planning? Thanks again for any help.

Summit's heads are very similar to the old double hump heads you hear everybody talking about. The 350 hp 327's had double hump heads. Their chambers are 3 cc's bigger so you will lose a tiny bit of compression which can easily be made up for with thinner head gaskets. I chose Vortecs for my build, but you said you already had a manifold for the standard heads so I suggested these.
i am running a vortec compatible manifold that i bought off of Ebay. i was a bit leary when i bought it but it was a decent price so i went for it anyway. ive been running the setup for aout 1 year now and the only problem i have had was the gas was getting a little on the warm side and pre detonating. i put a spacer between the carb and the intake and it solved the problem. if you are going to use an aftermarket vortec specific intake, buy one with the "air gap" option. this will eliminate the need for the spacer.
