Help on cam choice.
So far, I have recieved a great deal of information and lots of choices from this forum.
I need to choose a cam for my 350.
I am a solid .030 over, normal 202 head, 64CC chamber. I run a performer manifold, and 600 EGR Edelbrock carb. It is for a van, G/20, 1986 that is my project vehicle. I put in a 2.73 rear, tefloned the rear springs. 1 1/2 front and rear torsion bars. Poly suspension bushings.
I do jewelery for a living, and will do shows. My van will be a mobile repair station for jewelry. I want it to portray a certain image.
The cam I want is for torque, and ultimately mileage. I have a .196/.204 in it at this moment. I was considering going 1/5 + 1/6 rockers, rather than a cam. The cam now gives torque, but I am having an hard time with reliability in the carb adjustment. I suspect my cam is for a car with higher rpm recquirements.
Any advise. Changing a cam in a van is a little more challenging than a car. I have to remove the nose.
Thanks for all the help so far.
