I changed out starters on my 350 sbc. I have a 350 tranny. The new starter has a shrill when cranking. I have put in a .15 shim and it gets louder - .31 is terrible. One guy suggested that I count the teeth in the flywheel to see if the starter has the correct number. We got interrupted and I never got back to him on what the teeth count on each should be. I am now wondering if I have the correct starter. The engine is from a 70 Camaro and the part house sold me a Delco Remy 323-255. Any ideas?
