Which one is better Holley or Edelebrock 600 CFM
I have a new Holley 600CFM on top of 327 chevy engine. If I change it to Edelbrock 600CFM, do I get better performance? Is Edelbrock better than Holley?

I have had extremely good luck w/Carters which, edelbrocks are copied from altho I have not bought a Holey in years...thus, I am not familiar w/the new models.I just gor tired of messing w/the Hollies.Don Meyer, PhD-Mech Engr(48 GMC Trk/chopped/cab extended/caddy fins & a GM converted Rolls Royce Silver Shadow).

Actually, Quadra Jets are one of the better carbs for street performance. But, they are a fairly complicated carb to work on compared to others. I just got tired of always having to work on the Holleys a long time ago.

The Carter, Q Jet and Holley all have there strong and week points. Although I personally prefer the carter style AFB/AVS I'm running Q Jets on 2 cars, a Holley on one and Carters on 2 more.
From a performance standpoint it's not so much the design of the carb as it is the proper tuning of it. Correct air/fuel mixture delivered at the proper time is what determines how well an engine runs.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
