Dont confuse the police package with performance...... the engine mods were mainly oriented towards longevity..... in both the 5.0 and the 5.7, there were items like longer life rocker arms, etc.

Neither motor was much in a loaded cop car...... 5000 lbs of stuff with an air deflector mounted on the roof.
