    Hopper, have you researched a centrifugal blower or turbocharger for the 305? You could have the best of both worlds, mileage and power. You don't need a heap of cubic inches with either one to make a lot of power. The other thing is that your 305 already has the same stroke as a 350, 3.480".

    Grab another boneyard 305 and be building it with 8.00:1 compression ratio while you drive the truck.
    A Crower part# 00230 hydraulic cam would work well....
    Lobe Displacement Angle 114 degrees
    Duration @ 0.050", 214, 222
    Lift 0.450", 0.470"
