So today i pulled the valve cover off ran the engine and noticed one of my pushrods was still. So i pushed it down a little to see if it was just and stuck and it fell down. So i removed the intake manifold and all the goodies to get inside, and wat do i find. Little piece of a lifter :( Boo!!

question. I have all my rocker arms off now, how do the lifter come out?
If you have the intake off, you should be able to remove them from the lifter valley.

just curious is there a certain way to install plug wires? I hear a lot of people talkin bout crossed wires. I have installed them a couple times without any problem. But on my car when i got it the wires were not all on the same side. Meaning some wires started on the right side of the distributor but were routed to the left side of the engine.

Yep, they're all like that. You just try to separate 'em as best you can (1" minimum) if they have to run parallel to each other and cross 'em at 90 degree angles if they have to cross each other.
could i put the wire back on and run them even. For ex. left side of distributor, left side of the engine?

Actually, you can do that if you can find a Crossfire distributor cap. They are wired internally so that all wires coming out left side of cap go to left cylinder bank, all wires coming from right side of cap bo to right hand cylinder bank. On a normal cap, the wires have to follow the firing order of the engine, and you can not change that.

i also found that the stud that the rocker was on in which the lifter collapsed is taller than all the other studs. Should i simply just tap it back down or is it linked to another problem?

I've tried to find them with no success. That's why I didn't mention them in my repllies.
It took me awhile, but I have an address. Apparently they don't have an website. I saw a cap on eBay the current bid was for $40. I wonder why Jegs or one of the other performance shops don't sell these? As a matter of fact why didn't GM think of this 30 years ago????
