We just finished building a 383 stroker. Before the rebuild the engine had a Edelbrock Performer with a 650 Edelbrock carb. We've been running it with this setup but I am sure we can do better than this with a single plane manifold and a 750 carb - any suggestions? How about a Torker II with a 750 Speed Demon?
I'm not looking for huge performance - just street, but who knows

Performer RPM intake, youll be happy with it, its alot different that the performer, i think its called the RPM air gap now. Its a really good broad range dual plane intake, i ran one on my 383 and the torque was unbelievable....i think you'll be happy with it. Oh and keep the 650, i think the 750 will be too much....
Yep, what Monte said....Torker is old school, there are much better intakes out there. If you must have a single plane, I would use (and have used) Team G.....but the Performer RPM is great, you can get the regular one, or the air gap...the air gap looks a little more like a single plane, has some space underneath it. A dual plane will work better for you on the street, especially at lower rpms. You wont see a difference on the street between a 650 and 750, so if that's what you're looking for, spend your money somewhere else. And stick with a vacuum secondary, dont go with a double pumper on the street. It will be crisper responding.

Thanks for the replys. Sounds like the Performer RPM. I like the air gap idea, so maybe we will try that one. Sounds like staying with the 650 will be fine.
Any preferences between Edelbrock, Holley, Demon?? I am not having much luck with the Edelbrock - I just can't seem to get it to run very well. I have a Demon 750 I borrowed on it now and it does run smoother.
