Joe, what Dave is trying to explain to you is that the $34,000 motor is typical of what it takes....regardless of who builds the motor. We have over $200,000 in equipment here and we CANNOT build those motors! It is not trivial. IF you see an item in a catalog, THAT item is NOT what you need for an 800 hp motor. Callies cranks are not cheap, Carillo rods are not cheap, the blocks are NOT something you make from a factory casting.

People that have a combo that makes this type of power cant just give you a list of components......because the components dont have part numbers......they are massaged components that have been tested in countless dyno runs.

Even if your labor was free, you will have over the $15,000 in such a motor......no matter who you are......and there are a lot of savvy folks out there building motors.
