Lookin' for opinions on ready to run aluminum cylinder heads for a street strip 350. ...more strip than street :)
I need 64 cc chambers and springs that can handle a 600 lift street/strip roller.
Cheaper the better.....trying to rebuild the hot rod AND stay married.
right now Edelbrock E-tec heads are a good bet and out flow and out perform the Race right 185cc heads
Do the e-tec heads use regular rocker arms or would I need to buy the self aligning ones like on GM vortec heads?
Keep a lookout for Trick Flow twisted wedge heads. They were superior heads, but required close attention to valve-to-piston-clearance. Lots of guys didn't check 'em close enough and ran into problems, blaming Trick Flow for their bent valves, so the company stopped making 'em. There's a set on ebay now, just go to ebay, click ebay motors and enter Trick Flow.
I remember when those came out. If I remember correctly, they were limited to a "small" cam weren't they?Quote:

E-tec takes regular stuff....
And yes they were...I believe 470 lift with around 230 duration @ .050....some were getting more....it was all in the instructions if they dare to read them...
