4 bolt main, splayed caps, bored .040 over, forged scat bottom end, 015 decked block

.100 domed pistons,

x282s comp cams solid flat tappett (242/250 .520/.540 @ .050)

AFR 195 Street heads- 74cc chambers, 70% CNC ported (see airflowresearch.com for flow #'s) -Just got em and they are PRETTY!
Dual plane intake for now, possibly single in future

holley 750 cm double pumper, mech. secondaries

About 10.5-10.7 compression on pump gas

This is all going thru my built th-350, to a 3.73 posi in an 81 camaro...3600 lb with me in it


The goal was 500hp, hoping for 450. Think it's gonna be there?

The other goal was low 12's, whaddaya think about that one? Feasable. I think so....

Put slicks on it and come to quaker city raceway weekend sometime, open fri,sat, sunday. Sat is quick 16 so i would come friday or sunday. As for low 12s, well i would hope so but again, your gonna need slicks. good luck

471 hp with less cam, less intake runner volume and less compression than you have.

Speaking of compression, I think you'd better re-figure that. With my calculations from your parts, I'm getting about 11.8:1. That's figuring 13 1/2 cc's in the dome as a guesstimate and using 0.015" in the hole with a 0.039" gasket.

actually, i ahve a spped pro piston, which according to the speed pro (federal mogul) website, has about a 3.5 c dome volume (TOOK A DARN LONG TIME TO FIND IT!). that, according to their website, puts me at 10.25 if i had a .025 deck, im at .015 tho.

i dunno if i really believe all those ryans combos, especially as theyre all taken from magazines, which are not always the most accurate sources (who pays their bills?)

THEFED, if you have a 0.100" dome on the piston, it's gonna be one hell of a lot more than 3.5 cc's. Figuring a mean (average) diameter of 3.250", here's the formula:

.7854 x diameter x diameter x depth x 16.387

.7854 x 3.250 x 3.250 x 0.100 x 16.387 = 13.59 cc's

What am I missing here????

goto the federal mogul website. Then click on after market parts, USA, and search. There's a bunch of fields, like chevy-small block-pistons-pistons-hypereutecnic-dome

YOU HAVE TO GOTO SPECS TO SEE THE CC'S.They also give approx compression with certain cc chambers.

If you want an exact C/R just pour it... then you'll know with out all the guess work and math....

You'll do better with a dual-plain intake especially the RPM-Airgap...these will run with a single plain and make more torque doing it....enjoy...
