have pic of crank snout
g'day heres the pic of the crank snout below submitted by dennyw,as you can see the nose sticks out about a 1inch past the balancer,and I'm wondering if anyone has ever seen a crank sticking out this far,as I can't put the balancer bolt in,because it wouldn't hold the balancer in place.

I've seen a one like that once before.... it had a very large fat harmonic balancer on it.... i'm guessing its something very uncommon

crank snout?
thanks for the replies,the motor is a 78 block,are you talking about early as in 60's,I'm not sure if it's the original crank,I'm scared to run the motor with the balancer the way it is what do you think?
