383 Stroker Build
When building a 383 stroker using 5.7 rods, do you need to cut out the bottoms of each cylinder for clearance? OIn other words, what work needs to be done to the block using 5.7 rods?
Thanks !

Yes, but the amounts and places depend somewhat on the block. There is a fully documented case with pictures somewhere on this site showing the full details of the clearance grinding. Use the search command to look for the 383 stroker and you should be able to find the full buildup detailed.

i just finished building my 383 last week its back in the camaro now just need a few little things, should eb fired up for the weekend. I had to clrearance the block but very little some cylinders more than others. Its pretty easy to do. Like stated above theres how to on the board somwere shouldnt be to hard to find its 3-4 pages. Most kits come with cleared rods and such. My scat rods were already cleared. Dont be scared about it. Dive in only one way to learn. LOL383 , Time for heads
