I am looking to rebuild a 350 for my truck. I have a found a great deal on a standard 350 crank and a set of 6.0" rods. Is there a particular piston I must run and what do I need to do different on using the 6.o" rods? Any help and advice will be appreciated.
just get pistons for a 350 with 6in rods.....it's just that easy

Thanks. Sounds easy enough. Will the 6" rods increase compression? or, I guess my question is, what is the reason for going with 6" rods?
first ....no
second.....there is theory behind rod length...
it all has to do with piston speed...a shorter rod has a faster piston speed (going near and away from TDC) while the longer has a slower piston speed.....
what does this mean? well a shorter rod can take advantage of a larger head better due to increased speed.....while on the other hand a longer rod is slower and spends more time around TDC absorbing more of the power from combustion....putting a little more to the crank.....
Although with a 6in rod you will lose a little torque down low but not much but will gain it on top....

Word of advice:
Before you buy 6 inch rods, price the pistons to go
on them versus the price of "standard" pistons.
Pistons for 5.7inch rods are much more common and
usually cheaper.
I just found that out. There is a drastic difference. I see why he is willing to take a hit on the price of the rods!
