pully question please help
i just got my crank for my 283 back from the machine shop i had them put a bolt hole in the end of it so i can attacth the balancer with a bolt well the balancer pulley and the water pump pulley dont line up perfectly the balancer pulley sticks out just a fraction more that the water pump pulley i know i could put a spacer on the water pump but if it is ok like it is then i want to leave it and one more thing on the back of the motor by the distributer there is a hole about the size of the one the distributer goes in this hole just leads to the lifter valley. what do i need to plug it up with and what is it for?

its probably where the breather was in the older motors. use a freeze plug to plug it up with. then you will need to hook up a pcv valve into you valve covers. the pulleys i dont know about without looking at it. you can get by with a little out of line if you're not gonna turn it a lot of high rpms. without looking at it i dont know. :HMMM: **)
