noise
i have an 87 chevy pickup.....and i have a 350 small block....sounds like lifter but im not sure only makes the sound when under preasure doesnt do it when i rev up in nuetrul or park. only drive and reverse if it is lifter how do i find out which one it is please help

you might have a lobe wore off of the cam. see if all of the valves are moving all the way up and down.Originally posted by rockster450

Denny, I like your idea with the long screwdriver, but I personally like to use a piece of wooden broomstick handle or wooden dowel rod. JMHO.Originally posted by DennyW

Well, I have what you mentioned in my tool box. Hard wood, transfers the sound almost like Stereo, hahaha. In a pinch, and long screw driver will get the job done. Hahaha

Probally loose tourqe converter bolts or cracked flywheel/flexplate.
