Will it overheat
Just bought a 57 chevy with a 400 motor casting # 3951509 1974-1980. Looking to put in on a 671 Hampton blower 7.5:1 compression street use. I haven't worked out all the details yet but my question is will it overheat due to the siaemes (sp) cylinders. I think the steam holes were drilled out being a newer block. Please help!
Thanks

509 casting is a good 400 block don't bore more than .030 and it should work fine make sure the heads are drilled for steam holes

How hard do you plan on twisting the blower?? Do you have a good water pump and radiator? Do you plan on running an electric fan?

I look the look of the heavy duty truck motor radiator up front. Want to install an Edelbrock aluminum heads also. Not looking to twist up the blower too much.

Thankyou very much Techinspector. That answers my question! That's a windmill of a radiator. 75 amp WOW! I will get it to work, there is plenty of room in the 57. Thanks again for your time. I always like reading your replies.
