    Motor ID # F6I9FC

     



    I have a 55 Chev with a motor ID #F6I9FC. These numbers/letters are all there is. Can someone help me ID this motor?

    It could be one of three:

    1955 FC 265 Powerglide, a/c - - car
    1957 FC 283 Powerglide - 4 car
    1969 FC 327 tur hydro trans. 235 2 B F

    The F means Flint

    Look for the block casting number or the casting date on the drivers side forward of bellhousing. Date consists of a letter for the month, two digits for the day and the last digit is the last digit of the model year G049 is July 4th

    (it must be true, I read it on the internet)

    on the back of the block driver side upper side numbers should
    start with a 3 hope this helps merry christmas
