Head's and CC's wich is better???

ok now i know it all depends on what you want it for but i know that there is 100 cc's and higher and there is 60 cc's and lower what is the difference and wich is better for what???:confused: :confused:

The short answer is . . . it depends.

Cubic centimeter displacement (ccs) is the volume of the combustion chamber, which is a primary determiner of the compression ratio.

You can't tell which heads are "better" simply by the chamber voume (cc's). Remember, the engine is a system. The heads you use depend on the pistons, the compression ratio you get with those pistons, the compression ratio you want, the horsepower you want, and several other parameters.

For example, if you have dished pistons and put on 70 cc heads instead of the 60cc that came off, you'll lower the compression ratio - maybe more than you want. Alternatively, if you remove 70cc heads and install 60cc heads, the compression ratio will rise - again, maybe more than you want.

Ya gotta get past the idea that one particular characteristic makes one head better than another. It's the whole enchilada that matters.

Generally, you can run higher compression with aluminum heads - around 10 - 10.5 to 1.

Aluminum heads are significantly lighter, which is a good thing.

Being made of aluminum doesn't necessarily make it a better head. For instance, there are Brodix and World iron heads (for just a couple of examples) that are much better than stock Chevy aluminum heads.

Given equal flow and compression, though, I would almost always go with aluminum.
