All depends on how you plan to use it. That cam and intake aren't helping your low rpm operation, but it should go well once you're over 2k-3k or so. Who spec'd the engine, and for what purpose?

Well im of no use here. Ive only ever built two overheads for horsepower. Everything else ive either had done for me or ran stock.
But as soon as someone comes up with a good flathead question, thats when I shine. j/k LOL

thinks for the replys i bought this motor from my father in law it had 500 miles on it and this is what i'm doing to it i'm doing nothing to the bottom end but it's all new got all my goodies in today getting ready to turn a few wrenches just wondering what i could expect from it when i get finished. it's in a 4600lb 72 c10 so i'm not expecting any low et's

Get yourself a RV cam for that thing.............a truck that size needs more bottom end torque.

thanks for the reply appreciat the info

you can actually buy engine software to calculate torque and horsepower. i use desktop dyno for my engine rebuilds , believe it or not the numbers come very close with actual dyno results.

thanks i was wondering about that me and my friend done the dyno it said 430 hp at 5000 and 490 ft/lb of torque at 4500
