    BBC motor mounts.

After catching wind of different frame mounts concerning Hooker Super Competion headers,I found that the frame stands are the same in Chevelles and Elcos for sbc or bbc.So I ordered these:
    Engine Mounts | CHQ W-995
.....as I have no idea what is in there now with the current 350,and I want the proper mounts in when I install the new bbc.
So,here I am,in a position where I need to come up with some good poly mounts to bolt to the engine block. The car is a '69 Elco, and I'm going in with a Gen.VI.454.Looking at mounts I'm finding the tall and narrow style,or the short and wide style.Don't know which one to get,but I'd like to get the right one so as not to have clearance issues with headers,Moroso pan,and HEI.Any suggestions?BTW,I haven't received the new frame mounts I orderd yet.

I will take a stab at it ...
Not being familiar if there are any mount location changes on that Generation Block, I personally have only aquired stock mounts --- Clamshell style with the unpopular rubber.
Forgive my ignorance on the Block. IF it is the same as the earlier " Hi Performance " Block of the 60s & 70s, you MIGHT also need a couple of those 1 / 8 " or was it 3 / 8 " spacers to help get things aligned. I no longer have those things so I can't send a pic of what I'm trying to say.
Have you checked a El Camino or Chevelle website?
Good Luck & post up pics!!

Well the frame mounts came in.They are the same for sbc and bbc in '68-'72 Chevelles and Elcos.I then ordered the tall and narrow type poly engine mounts for same app....Seems the differences are more so encountered with Camaros and Novas, which need "tall" frame mounts for bbc's.Then of course there's different frame stands for 66-67 Chevelles..
