Hello fellow Chevy-Big Block folks!

My current 454 doesn't make enough vacuum at idle (only 5-7") for my newly installed EZ EFI. Evidently these "self learning" EFI systems need a higher idle vacuum (somewhere around 14-15") in order to figure out whats going on and "learn". My 454 has been in the car since 1995, its smoking a little at start up, so I'm ready to pull it and start an engine rebuild.

I am using a set of the 049 oval port heads that have the 2.19/1.88 L88 big valve upgrade. All other engine components are up in the air right now. I know I want a pump gas, EFI friendly combination. I'm being told to look for a cam based on a 112 or 114 LSA in order to have good idle vacuum.

I want to use a hyd roller cam and would like to hear some suggestions for one that would meet my vacuum goal. Even better would be some real world vacuum readings from cams others have already.

Even better would be that you are currently using an EZ EFI on your BBC and the cam that you have found to be a good choice.
