10 bucks a rod and 60 for bolts the rebuild rods is what i get so yep i build more 489/'498 bbc and some 511s then 454s so yes if you used hyper pistons and a cast crank for a 6.135 rod as most hyper speed pros use the stock rod and the cast steel scat crank cut for the stock rod and can get it in cast steel for internal but many times you have to put heavy metal in them. most guys are looking at this point to be making more power and RPM were i just go forged steel crank and internal at this point the forged crank forged 2618 pistons and longer rods 6.385 is the way for them to go . in your case you will not see any real gain in the internal balance job or longer rod just added cost in your build ..every one makes a 4340 crank to go internal with the 6.385 rod but you will move up on crank cost as it will be 4340 or 4130 and the longer rod with a forged piston that most all the time moves up to the 1/16 1/16 3/16 or 1.5/1.5 and 3mm ring pack so the cost can go up just in ring set can cost 60+ over 5/64 in the icon FHR forged set keep some cost down with stock ring set and now 1.5 rings and 3mm oil set is stander way to go . then there is the added cost in H bearings that you must us in the 4340 forged cranks. as for skip white . i buy all thru pbm/epw. motor state . comp. jomar . crower .Pep. perfit. Erson. as dealer or engine builder cost . there no need for me to deal with him as i sell as well . i balance all my builds. many kits are sold are just a mass balance job . for parts and build s in my shop is a 632. 511.489. 498.598.454.548 .i use parts i like and know work the best in each build But every job is not the same in HP or rpm and budget so cost and parts line up is not the same all have Erson cams in them shelf or custom to my spec.s . piston are icons . JE. wiseco.mahle.speed pro. just to give you a idea. i am not lock in to one brand but use the pistons i see fit for the build at hand
