Dropping a 350 chevy eng and tranny into my 68 buick LeSabre. Is it possible?
Can I drop a 350 chevy eng and transmission into my buick since it came stock 350 Buick? I think since its GM I shouldn't have a problem but Im pretty sure I will since the motor mounts might have to be changed, and the rear end shaft of my 1968 Buick might not link into the tranny. But I have an Idea, Can I use half the shaft of the 350 chevy eng and tranny and the other half of my Buick and weld it together at the exact measurements?

Yes It will fit. Use the frame mounts from a 68-72 Chevy full size car (Biscayne, Impala etc). The trans will fit also if you have the correct length tailshaft. If not, it may be cheaper to use an adapter to the Buick trans. Easy to make if you have fabricating ability, or readily available at Hot Rod shops.

the length isnt the only differance in the trans, the bell housing is also differant. Youll also have to do alot of rewiring.75 GMC C-15 factory 454, automatic, lowered

If you DO have to make a drive shaft, you want to get it done right .....and balanced so you don't get a vibration. Cut the end off (to lenght) that needs to be changed and weld the new yoke back in the same way it was from the factory. Take pains to get it square, or take it to someone who can.Originally posted by Dlinqnts2000

Thanks guys! It's been a long road. Fun doing finishing work for sure. Getting the dash ready for paint and some interior trim. Have to do some finish work on the aluminum headliner before...
