I have a 477 short block. It is 14:1 with 6.385 aluminum rods. I'm looking for 875hp at the flywheel. I was told to stay around 310cfms and find the biggest cam I can. Lol . I know that the carb intake cam and heads have to be in sync to produce real hp.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I take it this isn't for a street car!!!!!!!!!!since you already have the pistons, cylinder heads will have to clear piston domes so it might be a bit touchie gettin this one up and running

This will be a track only car. I'm not sure of the vehicle yet

How would I measure the ccs of the dome to help in picking the correct head for my motor. It's a Manley .100 over 14:1 piston

Its not a matter of measuring for ccs--its a matter of clearance piston to head chamber----------and valve size and location/angle----many of the current heads available have swirl chambers, open/closed, valves moved, angles changed---

but you can place the piston down the hole a known distance, fiqure the CCs for the bore size x that distance and CC it---the differance between the calculated number and what it CCs is the net dome CC size------
