Dual Quad And Hilborn EFI Setups For BBC
Hi,
I have a '40 Chevy Sedan with a full roller 496" BBC. I'm trying to keep the car as "old school" looking as possible. So, in trying to keep with the "old school" look I'm considering alternatives to the traditional single 4 bbl carb and intake. I'm looking at both a Hilborn EFI set up and a standard dual quad system. There is obviously a considerable difference in price between the two. I have not had the opportunity to visit with anyone that has either system. I'm particularly interested in how either system behaves on the street and how generally dependable they are. I would also consider tunnel ram systems but I'm not carb savvy and I've heard tunnel ram can be very temperamental.
Anyway, I'd appreciate any info you could provide on these systems. Thank you in advance.
