	12-12-2011 10:14 PM #1how much hp and tq is my 454 making and what would the best direction to head in now
 
 I have a 67 c10 with a 82 454 with 1300 miles on the rebuild, I have .525 lift cam, edelbrock performer rpm intake, demon 850 carb, the large oval port heads with stiffer springs and new everything, hedman shorty headers, 2.5" true dual exhaust with flowmaster 40s and I'm curious what kind of power HP and torque I should be making to the crank right now and what I should do next, it is 230hp and 390 ft lbs tq stock.

 Why guess or trust some software program?? In an area like Ft. Worth and Dallas I would imagine there are a number of shops who'll run the truck on their chassis dyno. Great way to check what your real power to the pavement is and it will also give you a lot of information as to where your tune-up is at. We do the drag cars on a chassis dyno every spring, usually make a pull, do some tuning, then another pull to verify the results of the tune are going in the right direction. I think we learn more in those two pulls then making a half dozen or more runs at the track.
 
 The dyno simulations are good, but you'll need to supply a lot more information on the engine then you have now. Usually the dyno sims are used before you start buying parts to give a good comparison of part A vs. Part B, this cam vs. that cam, etc. Once the engine is done, a chassis dyno will let you know where the power really is, not what it should be....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

 there are plenty of places around here to get a dyno but im not gonna waste my money getting a dyno till its done. Iwas just trying to get a decent estimate to last me until that day comes

 Without knowing any of the particulars on your heads, or the actual compression ratio, or anything about the ignition system, I'd take a guess the hp/torque to be in the 375-400 range...Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
