i work at a boat yard many years ago. there was a run of bad AC plugs they would rim fire and miss at hi speed .one day they pulled me off a job to look at a boat that no one could get to run right the boxs .wires. dist. were all replaced on two V6 engines this was under warranty but they always checked warranty parts if bad they paid if not bad the dealer would eat it. they knew this going in to this job. anyways the spark would walk the cap . 12 new plugs fixed this .dealer ship had to eat the two days work new box. wires. new dist. and time .$$$ .so it was the first thing i did . if any new boat would not run right bad idle .hi speed miss.i allways started with new plugs there was alot of AC plugs i changed out were the center was pointing to the plug body away from ground strap. it was a bad run of plugs after that i was not sold on AC plugs.i use auto lites .but i look them over good make sure there on center.you should not need any more then a 44or 8 in champLast edited by pat mccarthy; 06-04-2011 at 06:04 PM.
