Bearings-What kind to get?
So I am completely tearing my motor down (555) and need to get all new bearings. This is for a race only motor, so do I get coated bearings or non-coated, any particular brand? Looking online there are some choices to be made. At this point I do not want to be cheap and looking for some input. Also, any input on oil pumps? Are the billet pumps worth the extra $$$ or is a canton, melling or moroso race pump going to be sufficient?
Thanks
Scott

run the mellings performance or the M77hv have used many past 7500. as for coatings i used them .after i know what size the bearing is to the crank i have sent them out for coating.i have used all the H bearings out there kings .ACL/engine pro . speed pros on mains i like the 3/4 groove but if you have a strait shot oiling crank you really do not need it . i can make all them work but i like to stay with one bearing company so when i split them i am not buy 3 sets to get were i want it . i set my size on crank and rods and prep work keeps the crank in the engineLast edited by pat mccarthy; 01-31-2011 at 09:35 PM.

Thanks guys! It's been a long road. Fun doing finishing work for sure. Getting the dash ready for paint and some interior trim. Have to do some finish work on the aluminum headliner before...
