    yeah I didn't include machine work in those figures, kinda makes a guy want to just go out and buy a 540 short block and be done with it. Only thing is I have this problem with letting other people that I don't know assembling my engine.

    yep guys that build engine every day like me like to build junk engines that good press ..we make so much money building engines short block are not hard to build any dumb ass can do that if its some what clean if all the machine work is good . the top end that kills them most of time were guys think they can bolt heads on and not care to check any thing or not know how to

    yeah I learned a few lessons about top end work on this last 454 rebuild, but at least its running now. after all that work they went and cancelled my race on sunday, oh well at least it is ready to go for my race on the 29th. In case I never mentioned it Pat, thanks for all the valve spring help on that 454, it doesn't even bend pushrods anymore.
