your want a new GM mark 4 454 two bolt main block ? or 4 ? looking for a new iron block like a big m or world block... or bowtie ? who has the best price on what block what caps iron or steel that bore size do you need how much work done ? why i am asken this is you can get new blocks many ways . has for quality i fixed all of them see them all get hurt and i fixed alot of them there all good to a point . gm blocks may not always fix the best .not as heavy but are weaker in some spots. dart ball mills the out side oil pan rails this is very dumb and i told DART THAT they are DUMB they bust out EZ . there maching over all may or may not be better then world blocks but the world have a stronger oil pan rail .looks like mildwest racing.they may have the old pro block tooling ? WORLD did sell it or was try to? that could be a good casting ? as the old pro block is very solid block . there is some china stuff out there now.. i have a china 351w tall deck block with C mains block looks ok .needs alot of prep and hard ware bolts washers are junk after i machine the block its going to get ARP hard ware when it get s put back together so you may not save any money going with the china blocks. still to new to know much about themLast edited by pat mccarthy; 08-12-2010 at 11:05 PM.

And to add to Pat's comments
GM is no longer making the big block---and used cores can be $400-$700 dollars

it needs to be a 4 bolt with 4.25" bore and a 9.8 deck height, i will need to machine it 90 over and deck the block to fit all of my new components. my block after machining we found a large hole near the cam in a water jacket

Thanks guys! It's been a long road. Fun doing finishing work for sure. Getting the dash ready for paint and some interior trim. Have to do some finish work on the aluminum headliner before...
