BBC head gasket ???

Two fold question, first the motor- It is a fresh never fired 461 CI 454 based engine (8.2:1 Comp. KB hypers. I do not want to hear about how I should have chosen different pistons, too late damage is done and the money is spent, I will not go back into the block again.) Assembled w stock 049 heads but never even installed, now mid stream I had a set of 781's (shaved .030 to increase Comp) + redone w 1.88 + 2.19 valves, pocket ported, triple valve springs, Tit. retainers, 10 deg locks w PC seals. Both block and heads are flat and I am using ARP Head studs. The engine was assembled B4 w Felpro 8180PT2 Head gaskets-.038 compressed.

A- I have a new set of steel shim head gaskets-Mr Gasket # 1131-.020 compressed thickness, Should I spray these w copper coat gasket sealer?

B- Can the 8180PT2 Felpros be reused if already torked down but never fired? spray those first?

C- Just say Sc_w it and buy an altogether new set? If so, which? keeping in mind I want no more than .038 compressed thickness preferably closer to .020

Intended use- Strictly street w MAYBE 1-2 strip runs in a year just to see how it does, It is going into a 55 chevy BA Wgn. My last BBC car and now that i am disabled a wgn makde sense to me (to carry my scooter to shows/runs)You will note that alot of what I have done is over kill , I know, but I had this all new stuff on the shelf and wanted to use it all up rather than buy more new.

were is the pistons in the deck. in the hole or O deck ? if O i would want more then 020. you could reuse the felpro 8180 if every thing is dead flat .it been done many times . your running a triple valve spring on a 8.2:1 what cam? you mean a dual spring with a damper i worry more about the right springs for your cam ??.if you going to use the MR gaskets you want to coat them with copper gasket sealer with the 030 off the heads and a 020 head gasket hows your piston to valve ? with the 030 off did you loose 6cc?

2 Coils w a damper, If I remember right it was .3 w piston @ the top of the hole plus whatever the plane job did. But I'll check it agian tomorrow. Cam is 525/532 lift 292/305 dur. Way too much cam for 8.2 and still too much for 9.0. Something in the 280's would be better. I think but its what I have. The springs are right as are the matched Hyd. lifters. Those KB's (KB202-30's) have a DEEEEP valve slot. More clearence then needed roughly .045+ but I'll clay them w/o a HG B4 assembly, block and heads are planed and dead flat. A bud on another site and I worked out what I needed to plane off to get what I wanted. But after a computer crash I no longer have the details. I just wrote down what I needed ro do then BOOM! No computer for a few days. When I got back on everything but what I had written on paper was gone including links. Hard to say how much I lost in CC's w/o ccing them and thats not going to happen in a MN winter w no garage heat. :CRY: If I remember right we had it figured at .048 less than b4 w the 020 HG and
.030 off the heads

i get the head on the mill cc them before i cut them to see were they realy are at with the valve job done put two valves in cc the head take valves out mill what i think .put valve back in cc the head mill more if needed .it takes time but it works and it right. it works out to about .1cc for every 005 off the head. i set the block on the mill and O deck it or very close this help s alot to get were you want to be if you want to get more CR . i use the BHJ true deck blue print fixture.i am doing a 454 flat top piston blower engine the decks were WAAAAAAAAAY off 015 on both sides of the block . from were it should of been .O deck is about 9.780 on most pistons. i add the CH of the piston the rod and 1/2 the stroke and cut to O . i like to do it this way i get the block true and use a 039 head gasket and do not have to run a thin tin head gasket.i do not care to run the piston much closer then 039 to the head you get some piston rock it not hard to be + the deck by 005 when the piston rocks
