    block measures 9.800, pump and shaft are definatly big block, is it easier to make a new shaft or alter the dizzy!!??? mike...

    then it would fit the oil pump shaft is not right any way you go you have to be in the cam gear or you will just trash it i built many short deck 9.800 and 10.200 from 396 to 638 i have never had a problem with the oil pump shaft you have the wrong one or you have a tall deck you need to check the over all of the shaft or your dist or intake someone has screwed with it in some way
