    i know a guy that did that .i whip up a wee small oil pump shaft with a steel collar so he could race it at the track that day. it did work after that he put a bbc shaft in the engine well he said he did

    part number and reciept say its a heavy duty bbc oil pump drive shaft, not tall block??? could it packaged wrong, what are the lengths of the sbc and bbc pump shaft?

    the tall deck is the same oil pump drive as a 9.800 bbc the tall deck needs a longer dist or the intake needs to be cut for the stock dist if you not down ?some thing is to short do you have a tall deck block 10.200 or a 9.800 block? like i said if you have a tall deck you need .400 more on the dist if a slip collar dist move the collar i cut dist down on the lathe and make them slip collars

    just measured it , 9.8 , pump shaft and pump are correct but it is about .4 short! ??? is it easier to make a longer shaft or alter the dizzy,? what about the clicking when i primed the pump ? ....... mike.
