Crank is a drop in, no clearancing needed. Internal ba;ancing will require mallory metal added to the counterweights...I've never had a problem with external balancing and it makes use of the KISS pricipal. Keep It Simple Sir
on very rpm there can be addded benefits keeping all the weigth inside the engine if you buy the 4340 crank and use the 6.385 rod them you may not or may have to add one slug of mallory in the front and in the back or nothing at all you need to know what bob weight you will have and if the crank can take your mass . i done many 4.250 crank engine both ways and some blower engine that are still external .for the pan i use the milodon pans with a windage tray most all pans will clear a 4.250 crank with steel rods.do not bet its a drop in on the crank i have had to do a small bit of work on the block the counter weigths can hit

eagle forged 6.385 h beam rods.........
but what .60 pistons do you guys recomend.
I have not found a r/a that is exactly what i feel and hear i should have.I am thinking its a better idea to buy this assembly in pieces so i can get the lower compression i desire (8.5-9.1 cr).
any opinions??
well if you can go with srp pistons or use a je dish piston what cc chamber heads do you have ? look at SRP 142979 for 030 over and 142980 for 060. over with a 112cc head you will get 9.0 and 9.1 and for the 118 cc head you would get 8.3 and 8.7 for the 060 over and that looks fine to meQuote:

yep i am running a 548 10.5 with a blower works great so at 8.7 you will be just fine
i want to oreder my crank and rods tomorrow but i have one more really quick question about the eagle crank. They offer a crossdrilled and a standard style crank. Which one is the better choice here? Is the crossdrilled a weak point crank?
i like the strait shot oiling and if you can not have that then use a standard oiling and i run the 3/4 bearings like kings or speed pros so i would stay with std oiling and say no cross drillingQuote:
