I was told to start the engine, loosen the rocker til it starts ticking, then tightening slowly until it stops making noise then tighten 3/4 of a turn. Any advice would be very welcome. thanks.... BTW some of them are already making noise is why i need to find out how to adjust them. I think they are hydraulic.
You'll have to find out for sure whether they are hydraulics or solids... Trying to adjust a solid lifter using this method can really mess up a bunch of parts......
Here is a very good link that gives an easy way to do it. But Dave is right, you need to determine if the lifters are solid or hydrolic. My guess is hydrolic if the rockers are stamped, not roller tip, if they are roller tip it could go either way.

steel stamp rockers can be used on roller cam and solid or hyd flat cams ,i have done it on street cars rollers rockers will start to come part if you put alot of miles no them. yes you need to find you what you have the bbc can get a wear marks in the rockers from the valve stem a half moon mark that will make the pre load on a hyd cam go in and out of O lash that can make them clattler need to look at the rockers for this is very common if you can compress the lifter then the are hyd if hyd i start the car back off one rocker at a time back the nut till you here it click then one half turn is were i set them do one side at a time one thing to you should look at is the nut s get worn and may not hold so look at that to. some guy s do not drill a small hole in the front galley plugs and some times they will air lock up the lifters the small holes help keep the lifters from clicking
